Kimpton Teams With National AIDS Fund to Raise Money, Awareness
(San Francisco, CA) – Upscale boutique hotel chain Kimpton Hotels and the National AIDS Fund have joined forces in a partnership to raise awareness about HIV and generate funds for the cause.
This marks the third year Kimpton has put its support behind the National AIDS Fund with hopes of raising a a minimum of $25,000 in 2005. Campaign sponsors include Absolut Vodka, Level Vodka, Moet & Chandon Champagne, Hartmann Luggage and Mauge Design.
Kimpton's 'Every Red Cent Counts' campaign is anchored by the 'Stay the Night, Join the Fight' promo, donating a potion of all reservation money received in October and November to the cause. In addition, guests can make their own donations online at www.kimptonhotels.com/redribbon.
Thursday, December 1 marks a first for any hotel chain in the United States. That night, on World AIDS Day, the Kimpton chain will sponsor a series of fundraising parties coast-to-coast. Each event will have a local flair and a common goal: raisng funds to fight HIV.
Fundraising parties will be held in Boston, Chicago, Denver, New York, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver and Washington DC.
Kimpton employees are currently undergoing special training sessions to learn more about effectively managing HIV/AIDS in the workplace. Staff from the National AIDS Fund is providing this training, an attempt to offer a solid foundation to support the health of individual employees and their families.
“Kimpton Hotels’ commitment to HIV education and assisting people with the disease is one we take very seriously,” Kimpton’s Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing Steve Pinetti explained. “We understand that the AIDS crisis is not over and HIV service organizations are under tremendous pressure to serve an ever increasing number of people."
